Renee Nauyoks

Resiliency Facilitator

I was born in Newark NJ and attended St Benedict's grammar school. After relocating to the Jersey Shore with my family, I continued my education in the Toms River School district. Upon graduating from Toms River Highschool North, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in the Fashion Industry. Unfortunately, I had to withdraw from school due to financial reasons which in insight, was a blessing. I returned to New Jersey and obtained my Cosmetology License as a means to finance my education. Fourteen years later, I obtained my Criminal Justice degree from Ocean County College and pursued a career in Law Enforcement. I recently retired after twenty five years as a Sergeant with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Over the years I was fortunate to work in our Narcotics Strike Force, Special Victims Unit, Trial Unit, Juvenile Unit and most recently the Special Offenders Unit. I served as the G.R.E.A.T. ( Gang Resistance Education and Training) coordinator and instructor in Ocean County for eight years. I have been certified as a CIT ( Critical Incident) and Master Resiliency and have instructed throughout the County. In 2013 ,I was appointed as a board member to the Ocean County Opiate Task Force, New JerseyPrevention Network and Fatality Review Team. During my term we conducted various Drug Awareness Forums in an effort to educate the community on Substance Use Disorder and break the stigma associated with SUD. I am currently enrolled in the CADC ( certified alcohol and drug counselor) certificate program at Ocean County College and work per diem in the field. I come from a large family, I have five siblings, fourteen nieces and nephews and one great nephew. I am the proud Mother of an amazing sixteen year old young man, who reminds me everyday what my purpose is.
