Perry Messick
Resiliency and Chaplain Facilitator
Perry Messick is a Facilitator with Resilient Minds on the Front Lines and an Instructor with The Police Chaplain Program. He has been on staff at the First Baptist Church of Collingdale for forty years and currently serves as Senior Pastor. Perry is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pa. where he received a BS in Administration of Justice. He received his theological training from Seminary of the East in Dresher, Pa.
Perry serves as a Chaplain with the Collingdale Police Department, Collingdale Fire Department and the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #27. He is also a member of the Delaware County Critical Incident and Stress Management Response Team.
He served at the World Trade Center Disaster Site between October 2001 and May 2002. In addition, Perry was the ICPC Incident Commander in New Jersey after Superstorm Sandy.
Over the years, Perry has had the opportunity to travel abroad for specific ministry. He has traveled to Israel three times including an extended stay where he completed a course entitled the Geography and Topography of the Holy Land. Perry has also been team leader for two missions trips to West Africa and one to Brazil. He married his wife Deborah in 1985 and they have two adult sons and one grandchild.
