 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Supervisory Special Agent (Retired).

 Served as a core instructor with the Executive Programs Instruction Unit at the FBI Academy located

at Quantico, Virginia. Instructed courses at the International Law Enforcement Academy in

Budapest, Hungary, the Baghdad Police College in Baghdad, Iraq and courses for the Yemeni

Ministry of Interior at Sana’a, Yemen.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

 May 2018 – March, 2022: Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia:

University of Virginia adjunct instructor and Supervisory Special Agent (SSA), assigned as a core

instructor in the Executive Programs Instruction Unit. Created and delivered online webinars, in


person and asynchronous learning sessions. Responsible for curriculum development and review,

and providing undergraduate and graduate-level instruction for national and international senior

law enforcement executives. Instruction expertise in Leadership; Wellness in Law Enforcement;

Ethics and Organizational Behavior. Provided instruction in Officer Wellness to various FBI Regional

Command Colleges and the National Executive Institute. Guest presenter at University of Arkansas

and University of Louisiana –Lafayette. Instructed Basic Field Training Course (new agents) in topics

including, Interview and Interrogation, Ethics, Advanced Investigative Techniques and FBI Policy.

 Jan 2013 – May 2018: Federal Bureau of Investigation, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent – New

Orleans Division. Developed curriculum and delivered instruction for Civil Rights, Hate Crimes and

Courtroom Testimony to more than 1000 local and state law enforcement officers in various police

academies and departments throughout Louisiana.

 2008 – 2013: Federal Bureau of Investigation, New Orleans Division, Special Agent. Provided 40 hour

blocks of instruction on Crime Scene Management and forensic techniques to international police

officials at the Baghdad Police College, Baghdad, Iraq, the International Law Enforcement Academy,

Budapest, Hungary and at the Ministry of Interior in Sana’a, Yemen as well as various police

academies and departments throughout Louisiana. Responsible for the coordination of the FBI’s Iraq

Training Initiative during a Temporary Duty Assignment to Baghdad, Iraq.

 Jan 1990 – Oct 1998: Police officer/ Detective and Lieutenant, Danville Virginia Police Department.

Provided training at various law enforcement academies for topics including: Dealing with the

Mentally Ill, Drug Identification and Investigation, Courtroom Testimony, Managing Landlord-Tenant

Disputes and DUI Enforcement.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 March 2022-Present: Contract Instructor for Livingworks Education, Inc. providing suicide

intervention training. Founder of Brothers for Life, Inc., 501(c)3 non-profit that provides suicide

intervention and life skills training to military and law enforcement veterans and My Brother’s

Keeper Law Enforcement Training, LLC. Which provides training to various law enforcement

agencies.

 March 2022 – June 2024: Wellness Director – Performance Protocol. Responsible for curriculum

development and training of law enforcement Life Coaches.

 March 2022-December 2023: Strategic Consultant for Law Enforcement Wellness – Axon

Corporation

 May 2018 – March 2022: FBI Supervisory Special Agent, FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia. Instructor

in the Executive Programs Instruction Unit, providing undergraduate and graduate-level courses to

domestic and international senior law enforcement executives. Adjunct instructor for the University

of Virginia.

 Jan 2013 – May 2018: FBI Senior Supervisory Resident Agent, New Orleans Division. Supervised and

managed two Resident Agencies consisting of 30 personnel. Responsible for all investigative matters

in a thirteen parish area of Southern Louisiana to include violent crimes, white collar crimes,


terrorism, corruption and civil rights matters. Responsible for all administrative, personnel, facility,

media and liaison matters.

 Feb 1999 – Jan 2013: FBI Special Agent, New Orleans Division – Assigned to investigate all criminal

and terrorism violations. I was a leader of the Evidence Response Team and volunteered to provide

Crime Scene management training at various international venues. I was the Principle Relief

Supervisor and was selected to interview detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba following the events

of 9/11. Following Hurricane Katrina I was assigned to the New Orleans Police Department Homicide

Division where I supervised a cadre of 9 FBI Agents who addressed the high number of homicides in

the city. Received training in body recovery at the Forensic Anthropology Departments of the

University of Tennessee and the University of Texas.

 Oct 1998 – Feb 1999: Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia – resident

course, Federal Bureau of Investigation New Agent Academy.

 July 1987 – Oct 1998: Police Officer/ Detective Danville Police Department, Danville, VA

–Responded to various calls for service in a dynamic and dangerous environment. I was selected to

be a field training officer, a peer counselor and an academy instructor. After being promoted to the

rank of detective I worked undercover assignments, was assigned to various state and federal task

forces and was recognized in several state and federal courts as an expert witness regarding

narcotics investigations. I was assigned to supervise the Special Investigative Division which was

responsible for all high profile, Vice and Internal Affair investigations. During my tenure with the

department, I was elected to serve two terms as the President of the local Fraternal Order of Police

Lodge.

relief fraud following Hurricane Katrina.
