Daniel Jones
Resiliency Facilitator
Daniel "Danny" Jones has worn numerous hats throughout his life. Immediately after High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps. While staying in the Marine Corps reserves, he attended and graduated from TN Wesleyan College in Athens, TN with a business degree in 2000. Edward Jones Investments recruited Daniel to become a Financial Advisor where he stayed just after 9/11/2001.
Danny was deployed to Africa in January 2002 to combat the War on Terrorism. Once home, he applied and was accepted to join the Chattanooga Police Department in Dec. 2003. While employed at the Chattanooga Police Department, he was subsequently deployed two more times through the Marine Corps Reserves. Both times he was sent to Iraq with one of those deployments being in Fallujah during the largest ground house to house fighting since Vietnam. The other time he was assigned to the Iraqi Police.
While at the police department he served in different divisions of the department. He spent 10 years on SWAT, did a year as a task force officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), was a part of the Public Information Office, spent two years as the sergeant over the gang unit, commanded the officers in the most violent area of Chattanooga, and is currently the commander of Special Operations. These units include SWAT, Hostage Negotiations, Bomb Squad, Traffic, DUI, Regulatory, Special Events, Homeland Security, and Peer Support.
Danny has been married to his beautiful wife, Heather, for 20 years. It was through Heather's support and encouragement that Danny was able to complete a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. They are very active in a ministry they know God called them to in the inner city of Chattanooga. Restore Hope Ministries enables law enforcement and community members to come together to affect kids for Christ.
