Brad Waudby

Resiliency Facilitator

Detective Brad Waudby is from Oakland, New Jersey and graduated from Indian Hills High School in 1999. Following High School, Brad attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) located in Fort Monmouth, NJ. After the Prep School, Brad entered the United States Military Academy as a member of the class of 2004. While at USMA, Brad was a member of the school’s football team, earning two varsity letters. His course of studies included the American Legal System and Systems Engineering. In December of 2004, Brad graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from USMA. In August of 2007, Brad entered the 109th class of the Port Authority Police Academy and upon graduation he became a Detective with the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. While as a Detective with the Waterfront Commission, Brad was tasked with investigating Organized Crime, Narcotics and violations of the Waterfront Compact in both New York and New Jersey. In October of 2011, Brad was hired as a Detective with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. Brad’s previous assignments include the Special Victims Unit, where he investigated sex crimes, child abuse and child abductions, Bergen County Narcotic Task Force, Major Crimes Unit and the Bergen County Regional SWAT Team. Brad is currently assigned to the Bergen County Police Academy where he is responsible for instructing recruits and teaching in-service training for all Bergen County Law Enforcement Officers. Brad is also a Master Resiliency Trainer for the State of New Jersey. He is also a certified ABLE and ICAT instructor. Brad has also earned a Master in Administrative Science and Graduate Certificate in Global Security and Terrorism Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Brad is also a Recovery Coach and Interventionist. He will also be enrolling back into school to earn his Masters in Social Work. In his spare time he likes to enjoy time with his two sons, JJ and Tommy. Brad is also an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys fly fishing, hunting and hiking with his sons.
