Paul Bertrand

Facilitator and Curriculum Team Member

I have spent the last 34 years serving others, most recently as a Regional Training and Delivery

Manager at LivingWorks Education, providing leadership and overseeing a network of

approximately 650 suicide prevention trainers, and before that as a Supervisory Special Agent,

Acting Unit Chief, Investigator, Program Manager, Instructor, and EAP PEER in the FBI. Prior to

the FBI, I served 8 years as a Naval Flight Officer and Division Officer in the US Navy. My FBI

career includes approximately 13 years as a complex white-collar crime/fraud agent and squad

supervisor, 5 years as an instructor, instructor trainer, supervisor, and program manager at the

FBI Academy, and 5 years as a regional program manager and long-term acting unit chief in the

FBI’s Employee Assistance Unit. I possess strong leadership skills, and I am well-liked and

respected by my peers, supervisors, and subordinates alike. I am a very highly rated

agent/investigator, supervisor, instructor, instructor trainer, and curriculum designer, and I also

have extensive experience in leading FBI Crisis Intervention Program responses to numerous

national level mass casualty events. Those who know me describe me as a kind, laid back,

empathetic person, who can also be depended on to take on any project or task and surpass

expectations. I strive to model the core values of the agencies I serve, and I have enjoyed

successes in my career through hard work and achieving results, but more importantly through

forming caring and trusting relationships with my co-workers and colleagues.
